Artist Statement

My creative interests stem from my upbringing in New York City, my connection to the Caribbean as a vistior and through heratige and the desire to participate in artistic traditions like craft and community engagment. I engage with the laborious paper-mache mask-making process learned from artisans in the Dominican Republic.
